1 Month Old

The first month of Simon's life has been a blur at best. First 10 days in hospital, then a flurry of visitors, and then Grammy for two weeks, means Simon is a whole month old before he and Mom (and Dad) get some quiet time together to get to know each other or to establish any kind of rhythm or routine as a family of 3. Marshall and I thoroughly enjoyed a quiet evening at home with our son last night much as we were used to doing before Simon arrived. It will take us a few more weeks to really find our groove as a family, but at least now we can start working on that.

At one month old Simon is slightly ahead of the curve for growth in length and weight gain. He's gained 1 pound and 5.5 ounces since birth, and grown 1.2 inches in length. He just today started making some cooing sounds, and is making more and more eye contact every day. He has even taken to mimicking Dad, and will stick his tongue out in response to Dad doing the same. He slept 3 hours in a row last night, twice.

Here are a few pictures taken today in honour of his first birthday of sorts.

Funny Face!

Wearing "Party Pants" for his birthday. This diaper cover is good to 16 pounds,
so will make a monthly birthday appearance for a few months to come.
Yes, still cloth diapering, and no intentions of switching.

Mom's cutie-pie

This second video was actually taken last week.
